Off and Running
In her high school, Avery is known as the “black track star.” In her Brooklyn neighborhood she is the adopted daughter of white Jewish lesbians with an older Puerto-Rican brother and a younger Korean brother. At home she’s simply Avery. Now Avery is on a quest to meet her African-American birth mother in Texas.
