Puffin Statement on the Invasion of Ukraine

Puffin condemns the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and the murders and suffering being carried out by the wishes of President Vladimir Putin. He bears sole responsibility for the destruction, chaos, and loss of life.  Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, including the people of Ukraine, the surrounding countries, and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region. Putin has perverted the concept of anti-fascism to justify his pursuit of a new Russian empire. These despicable violations of human rights must be opposed by the world community.

On this page we are highlighting some projects and grants that we’ve made in recent years in support and recognition of the Movement for Black Lives. Below that, we’ve shared a few resources that we hope you will find useful.

The projects and websites we’re sharing here are not meant to constitute an authoritative or comprehensive list. We are not experts in the struggle for racial equity, although in the spirit of our founder, Perry Rosenstein, we strive to make positive contributions toward it. Systemic anti-blackness is woven so tightly into the fabric of our society that eradicating it cannot take place only in the courts or via elections. Unraveling the threads of racism must take place in every sphere. With that understanding, we’ve selected some anti-racism resources that relate to the Puffin Foundation’s areas of focus, including: a love and appreciation for music and art; a commitment to enriching education for children; and the desire to protect and enjoy a healthy environment.
