The Three Bears
The Three Bears is an interactive theatre performance for children ages 3-5 years. Youth Stages is one of very few theatre companies in the U.S. who write and perform theatre pieces specifically for this age-group. The actress, Youth Stages founder, Jean Prall Rosolino, places Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Goldilocks. The children in the audience all play Baby Bear. As an integral part of the show, the children help with morning chores, get dressed, brush their teeth, and perform morning exercises. They also play a significant role in getting Goldilocks to leave the Bears’ house!
Having received funds from the Puffin Foundation, Youth Stages was able to offer three free performances to the Ocean County library system. Working closely with the children’s program coordinator at the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, Youth Stages was directed to three sites where families are still not back in their homes; Point Beach Branch Library, Lakewood Branch Library, and an alternate site in Lavalette since the Upper Shores Branch Library remains closed. Youth Stages conducted these three performances free of charge due to the generosity of the Puffin Foundation.
