Parent Choreographer Space Grant
BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange is happy to announce the recipients of the 2013 PARENT CHOREOGRAPHER SPACE GRANT – Choreographers Margaret Sunghe Peak and the collaboration of Layla Childs and Sonya Robbins known as Robbinschilds have been selected in competitive panel for this year’s awards. This initiative by BAX, funded in part by The Puffin Foundation & The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, targets the needs of choreographers who are trying to meet the challenges of being an artist and a parent to preschool age children. As an organization that has entered its third decade, BAX is intimately familiar with the joys and the difficulties of raising a family and creating and producing work. The recipients will receive 40 hours of rehearsal space in addition to a childcare stipend.
